Artwork Guidelines for Custom Foam Board or Acrylic Printing
To make sure your sign prints as expected, please follow these artwork setup guidelines before uploading your file. If you’re confident your artwork is print-ready, you can upload it directly when ordering. If you’re unsure, you can add an optional artwork check and we’ll review your file before production.
Accepted File Types
We accept the following file formats: PDF (preferred), PNG, JPEG, TIFF. Please ensure any layered files are flattened before uploading.
If you’re using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or similar, please export your design as a PDF before uploading. Files submitted in DOCX or PPTX format may not display correctly and could result in font or layout changes.
Canva Users
If you’re creating your design in Canva, follow these steps to export a print-ready file:
- Click ‘Share’
- Select ‘Download’
- Choose PDF Print
- Tick ‘Flatten PDF’
- Do not include bleed or crop marks
- Make sure your Canva design is set to the same proportions and orientation as your chosen print size (e.g. A1, A2 or A3).
- Avoid using low-resolution images or stretching elements beyond their original size, as this can affect print quality.
AI-Generated Artwork
Artwork created using ChatGPT or another AI image generator can also be uploaded. Please check that the image has the correct proportions for your chosen print size and is high enough quality to be enlarged. Avoid stretching a square or differently proportioned image to fit an A-series board, as this can distort the artwork. For more information, see our guide to printing your own Canva or AI design professionally.Colour Mode
CMYK artwork is preferred for printing where available. Files supplied in RGB will be converted for print, which can sometimes result in slight changes to brightness or colour intensity, particularly with very vibrant colours. Please bear in mind that printed colours may also differ slightly from what you see on screen due to differences between screen lighting and printed output.
Resolution and Sizing
For best results, artwork should be supplied at the highest practical quality and at the correct proportions for your chosen print size. Images that are too small or low resolution may appear pixelated or blurry when enlarged. Where possible, aim for 300dpi at the intended print size, particularly for smaller-format artwork.
Fonts and Text
All fonts in your design should either be embedded or converted to outlines, curves, or paths. This prevents unexpected font substitutions and ensures crisp, smooth text when printed.
Sending Your File
Artwork should be uploaded using the file uploader on the product page at the time of ordering. Files must be under 100MB in size. If your file exceeds this limit, consider compressing it or exporting in a more efficient format, such as PDF. Please do not email files or use external upload services, as these are not monitored for artwork uploads.
File Storage Policy
Uploaded artwork files are not stored permanently and will be deleted from our system after 30 days. Please keep a copy of your file for your own records.
Once Submitted, Files Cannot Be Changed
Please carefully check your artwork before uploading. If you’re confident that your file is print-ready, it can be submitted directly for production.
If you’re unsure, you can add an optional artwork check when ordering. We’ll review the resolution, proportions, sizing and overall print quality before production. If anything needs adjusting to make your artwork suitable for print, we’ll contact you and work with you to get it ready before anything is printed.
Once artwork has entered production, changes or replacement files cannot normally be accepted.
